Working with WeidnerCA I was commissioned to create a massive 2,800sqft outdoor mural for MBC biolabs in San Francisco, CA.

Our design evolution took flight with a focus on four core elements: movement, dimension, energy, and DNA. The essence of the design was rooted in harnessing the vibrant orange hue that is synonymous with MBC biolab. We aspired to craft a sense of depth, thus the DNA-inspired forms were meticulously layered with shadows, guiding the viewer's gaze 'into' the mural as if stepping into another dimension.

Midway through the design process, an inventive concept was proposed - extending the mural to wrap around the front of the building, all the way to the main entrance. This added a delightful twist to the design scheme, as the continuity of the mural would intuitively lead visitors around the building's exterior to discover the expansive artwork on display.

Each element of the mural, from its themed prompts to its physical layout, was mindfully curated to embody the dynamic spirit of MBC Biolab, ensuring a perfect blend of aesthetics, storytelling, and brand identity.
